chronic headachesSome people experience chronic headaches to the degree that they have to live their lives around them. They may experience chronic headaches daily, weekly, or monthly. Some women have chronic headaches associated with their menstrual cycles and they know to expect a headache at least once a month. Many migraine sufferers experience chronic headaches; they may not know when they will occur or they may have developed a pattern.

Living with chronic headaches isn’t easy. Plans have to be put on hold and inevitably, things we were looking forward to have to be canceled. While it is not easy, the best way to deal with chronic headaches is to be super organized and have a support system in place.

It can be difficult to hold down a job when you have chronic headaches. However understanding they may be, bosses have responsibilities too and it can make it difficult on everyone involved when one person frequently calls in sick. Even if you don’t call in sick very often, your work may be suffering because of the pain you are in.

Parenting can be difficult too when you have chronic headaches, especially if you are the only one caring for the children when a headache hits. That is why it is so important that you have a strong support system in place so that you will have people to call on when a debilitating headache comes on.

It goes without saying that you should talk to your doctor if you have chronic headaches but just in case you haven’t done this yet, now is the time. He or she will need to have as much information as possible to help them to determine what is causing your chronic headaches.  The good news is that it is entirely possible for your doctor to get to the root cause of your headaches and offer you a treatment that will make it possible to improve the quality of your life.
