If you are having frequent headaches then it is time to get to the root of the problem to find out why and what you can do about them. Having a headache can make us feel badly all over and frequent headaches can wreak havoc with daily functioning.

While many medical journals will tell you that headaches can signify a more serious illness, they may also tell you that this is rare. Most headaches do not stem from something serious but they do have a root cause and it is important to get to the root of the problem so that you and your doctor will know how to treat your frequent headaches.

Frequent headaches could simply be tension based or they could have their roots in a hormonal imbalance. In addition, many people don’t realize that the food and beverages we consume can be causes for frequent headaches. Food allergies are sometimes responsible for headaches as are certain chemicals and drugs. Some people think caffeine causes headaches and it may well cause headaches in some people but did you know that caffeine withdrawal can also cause frequent headaches?

Sometimes, people decide that they want to avoid caffeine altogether and they suddenly cut it out of their diets. They drink decaffeinated coffee, tea, and they no longer drink soft drinks that have caffeine. Then they are surprised when they get a headache. However, many people find that headaches that stem from caffeine withdrawal go away in a few days.

If you have frequent headaches, it would be a good idea to jot down everything you eat and drink so that you can bring this to your doctor’s attention. If you can establish a pattern of what you are consuming when the headaches occur then this could lead to a solution and hopefully, eradication of your frequent headaches.
